The National Archaeological Museum celebrates Art Night Athens with a free concert of the City of Athens Philharmonic Orchestra | 23/9 - 20.00 - Atrium of the National Archaeological Museum

On Saturday, September 23rd, the National Archaeological Museum and the City of Athens Cultural, Sports and Youth Organization are participating in Art Night Athens.

The Art Night Athens / White Night Culture event is organized by the active civic community atenistas. This is an idea that has been a successful institution for decades in major cities around the world. A great artistic action involving actively public and private cultural actors and artists, inviting the Athenians to wander in the city from 8 o'clock to 6 o'clock and discover different expressions in a variety of art and culture organizations

The National Archaeological Museum opens to the city, offering its wonderful garden in Patission str for a musical wandering with the City of Athens Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Dimitris Miha. Famous melodies of the international and Greek cinema will travel the Athenian audience to cinematic landscapes that have remained indelibly in our memory.

There will be works by Vangelis Papathanasiou, Manos Hadjidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Eleni Karaindrou, Astor Piazzola, Dmitri Shostakovich, and many other composers from emblematic cinematographic films such as Never On Sunday, Beekeeper or Siege State, as well as popular action movies, such as Indiana Jones and the Dangerous Mission.
